As part of our ongoing collaborative art_design project "The Hike", myself and Olivia Hegarty travelled to Calais to volunteer in what is known as the 'the jungle'. At the time of our visit there were over 7000 people living in the camp. We crowdfunded the making of repair kits that could be used on site to fix tents, clothes & shoes and with the organisation Care for Calais we spent time stitching and talking to people who's journeys and stories it will be impossible to forget and which are now the stories of hundreds of thousands of people across Europe.
